What is Pangea Chat?

Pangea Chat is an instant-messaging platform designed specifically for language learning. It capitalizes on students’ interest in texting, messaging, and being connected to peers to fuel language learning and practice while using AI to personalize learning around students’ individual needs and interests.

We help learners communicate in their target language from day 1!

Our in-app tools help students write messages in their target language, understand messages they receive in their target language, and create learning opportunities from their own messages no matter their proficiency level. Let’s check out our in-app learning tools!

Interactive Translation

Interactive translation allows students to use their base language to learn and strengthen their skills and confidence in their target language. Different from online translators, interactive translation guides students through a learning activity where students critically think about language choices and get immediate feedback.

Interactive Grammar Checker

The Interactive Grammar Checker helps students correct any errors in their messages before they are sent. Students will receive information about the error that has been detected and have the option to accept or reject corrections from Pangea Chat using what they already know about their target language.

Dictionary pop-up cards

When students encounter new or unknown words in Interactive Translation or in messages they have received, they can access dictionary pop-up cards to ensure comprehension and promote learning.

Language toggle

As a last resort to avoid communication breakdown, students can access the language toggle to see selected messages in their base language.

No more reminding students to, “Please, use [insert target language]!” Our AI-powered tools keep students in their target language both when sending and receiving messages, providing an immersive learning experience for maximum learning potential.

Pangea Chat works with any curriculum.

Teachers and students can outline their own topic, task, and assignment in each chat. Pangea Chat is also adding games and activities that teachers and students can choose from to achieve learning objectives from their curriculum. Outside of the class time, students can chat with the AI and, with each other, on any topic: soccer, gardening, Taylor Swift, cryptocurrency, business negotiations, heart surgery, sustainability – the possibilities are endless!
